Field Note 04

The Body Knows the Way

A woman sitting quietly on a rock at the ocean's edge, eyes closed, listening

Your body has been speaking all along.

Long before we can explain what we feel, the body already knows.

It whispers through tension. Through ease. Through breath. Through posture.

Through the places we've learned to brace against life.

Alignment isn't about imposing a shape onto the body. It's about learning its language.

Each pose becomes a conversation instead of a correction. Each adjustment becomes an opportunity to listen more closely.

A woman walking barefoot along ocean rocks, head bowed in quiet attention

The body is a place to encounter reality more clearly.

Often… it already knows the next step before the mind does.

A Practice

Instead of asking, "What should I do?" — ask, "What is my body showing me?"

Then spend a minute listening without trying to fix anything.
